MPC tooooooo >>>>>>> Proteus 2500

Hello all I have a general midi question... I use to own a mo phatt with the composer rom.... now i have installed both of these rom in a P2500, but the P2500 doesn't respond to the midi input from the MPC like my mo phatt did.... it will only respond to the midi track in the window of the MPC.. example... midi 2b will change track two on the proteus to bass1... but the track not in the MPC window like 3B will not be recognised by the proteus unless i change it to that track in the mpc window. And only the track in the MPC window will play, none of the other midi tracks will.

I got the P2500 set for <poly accepted> if I try omni and multi it sounds like shit... this is all I use to have to do for it to work on the mo phatt. What's wrong.... also I put the midi data on each individual track... I don't put it all on one track... 3A has 3A's data and 4A has only 4A's data...etc.

PM me more, I have a 2000 they are essentially the same. I need to know EXACTLY what you are talking about.

I'm having trouble making it play Multi-Timbral parts. Different sounds on 1A, 2A, 3A, like the mo phatt did.

To Set up Proteus 2000 for Multitimbral Operation
1. Set the MIDI mode to “multi mode,” using the MIDI mode function in
the Master menu.
2. Decide which MIDI channels you want Proteus 2000 to receive (32
channels can be used simultaneously). If you are using 16 MIDI
channels or less, just use one of the MIDI ports. Use both MIDI ports if
you need more than 16 MIDI channels. You can turn any unused
channels OFF using the MIDI Enable function in the Master menu.
3. Select the desired preset for each of the MIDI channels you want the
Proteus 2000 to receive using the MIDI Channel/Preset selection screen.
You can also set the initial Volume and Pan settings for each channel.

Multi
Responds to data on any combination of MIDI channels and plays the
specific preset associated with each of the MIDI channels. You must select
multi mode for multitimbral operation.

Leory I glance through the Proteus 2500 manual and there are a lot of cool things you can do with Effects in Master Mode while using the device in MULTI mode.

Do a find in the PDF version of your manual for Multi Mode and you will see some interesting things that can be done with the P2500 in comibation with another device (MPC in this case)

I put it in multi mode and that still didn't fix the problem... So, I took a week long break from the p2500 and crunck it up this morning and fiddled with some of the midi options and found the problem.... It seems that the p2500, unlike my mo phatt, has an option that rechannelizes midi in to a track channel.... and this function was turned on in the p2500. Once I turned that function of I was jamming again, listening to old beats and getting Ideas for new ones. So I just wanted to thank you guys again because you got me back on the right track.
