hey guys,
i have my mpc 2xl for a while now and also got a microkorg. I cant seem to figure out the whole midi process. since i got the microkorg ive been using 2 1/4 in. cables and basically sampling on to my mpc(I have 2 midi cables connected to the mpc). I already have a whole zip full of drums i set down and want to add melodies I have in my head to them. I went to my lolcal gutar center and they werent too helpful. can anyone please help with a walkthru or site that can help. I read the mpc and korg manuals both and am stumped. I also dont want to get turned off cause im stumped so i welcome all help. thanks guys

mpc a out to the microkorg in
microkorg out to mpc in 1

when you program using midi highlight drum1 using the cursor and once there turn the data knob until midi appears.......set the channel [a1, a2, a3 ect ect] also set the program number and you should be cool

The Microkorg isn't multi-timbral so you would only be able to sequence one track with it. You could then record that track into some kind of recording software and import it into the MPC as a sample and sequence another track(kind of tedious).

Also, don't forget that to hear both the MPC and Microkorg they both have to be hooked up to a mixer or soundcard.

You can insert MSB and LSB messages and Control Changes.... What a pain, but it works.
