Backing Up My Beats.

Heyy everyone, i need some help please. I would like to have a backup copy of my 1GB SD card. I have the card reader and it works well with my pc. What i need help with is the transferring of my files. Is it possible to just copy and paste all the stuff from my card unto a new one? Please help..

Well, arg told you what you need but, seriously, have you not yet heard of this thing called an internet search? There's a new-fangled website called google that allows you to key in a phrase, like "translator free", and get all kinds of interesting information back. You really should check that out - it's all the rage with the kids these days.

Thank you.. I did try google by the way, but the translators they were referring to was languages.

Programs aren't responsible for fubar. It's FAT16 that does that.

Fat16 in mpc's and computers is not the same. It differs very slighty. So you can't have all 16 characters, you get 8. Live with it.

I meant with just copying from one card to the other. Will the program change the file names in the process of the copy or just by reading the card? I'm kinda scared to pop my card in without being sure. I've been keeping files at 8 max for the past few years, but I got a lot of old stuff I wanna back up. So I just need to make sure of whether or not I need to go back and rename ALL those files.

I have a Mac and a USB zip drive and just simply copy files into a folder on my Mac from the zip disk which has the MPC data on it.
I don't bother with any translator software, nor have I ever considered it.
I copy files from my Mac back onto a zip when I want to use them again on my MPC.
Never had any problems.

You can try this out on your own and see what happens. it's free and you can do it in the comfort of your own home.

Mac's different from PC.
