Freezing and Something like Hex-Code

Hey,

I bought a used MPC 2000xl at ebay. The seller told me that the machine has something like a heating problem. Actually after a few minutes of working (about 20 minutes) the MPC freezes and the screen shows just a few digits something like a hex-code. After a restart the same problem apears, but after a while (a few minutes or an hour) everything works fine.
Is it a known problem?
My solution would be to install a fan, but i am not sure if the problem could be solve easier.

Ok thanks I'll have a try. But i have asked the seller and he told me that the reinstall hasn't changed anything. He also said that the machine works perfectly with cooling.
I havent tried it yet but i think there is also another solution.

Something like an MPC shouldn't really need cooling, or at least the processor shouldn't as it wouldn't kick out enough heat. All the complex electronics are probably fine, could be a loose heat sink, dry solder, failing PSU. Could be a pretty cheap fix so might be worth getting an engineer to look over it.
