Pads not working??

I haven't used my mpc for a couple months. Well I finally hooked up my mpc last night, and the top 8 pads is not working. Please let me know if there's a setting that must be touched or is my MPC just going bad?

SOunds like maybe your pad sensors sheet has gone bad on the top row.

So is that something thats pretty typical? And where can I purchase sensor pad sheets?

And now my 500 doesn't seem so bad i've got 12 pads you've got 8. Downsample and pretend its an sp1200

B4 installing a new pad sensor sheet, just open the MPC, remove the rubber pads. Then gently wipe down the pad sensors with a lint free cloth, or use a piece of tape to remove any dust. I had a problem like yours and that fixed it.
