Aight...I've had an MPC 2000xl for a while. Bought it at a good price, but haven't used it at all. I mainly use my Fantom X6, Pro Tools and Reason 3.0 sometimes, but i wanna see if i can use the mpc with reason and/or pro tools without altering my set up now or using a set up that isnt going to cause me headaches once i go back to doing something that i'm used to doing. I wanna be able to use the mpc, but not at the expense of the comfort that i have with my fantom and pro tools set up, u kno? The connections and stuff confused me enough, so i just dont wanna create more problems.
ANYWAY...i will explain my set up and what i want to accomplish and hopefully someone can help me out. Please dont respond unless you know for sure what you are talking about, as i have looked all over the internet and havent found a clear answer my problem yet, thanks.
Current set up:
Fantom Midi in > Digi 002 Out (For when i need to track out in PT and make fantom slave to PT)
Digi 002 In > Fantom Out (to control Reason)
What I want to do:
Connect the MPC 2000xl to read the samples in Reason without changing the current set up if i dont have to. I have seen other set up where it says connect the controller to the mpc and blah blah blah. Before i was to do that, i want to know why i would do that because the main thing i want to keep is the out from the 002 to the keyboard so that i can continue to have the pro tools as the master when i need it to be.
i hope that is clear
simply...what do i need to do to connect my mpc to use reason as a sound bank, along with any other tips once i have that sorted out, as i am new to the mpc
