Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

My 2klxse2 came with 1.2 and a card reader installed but I seem to remember some saying 1.14 was better, I tried using search but came up with squat.

So apart from the supposedly better card support for 1.2 what is the difference and why some of you guys still rocking 1.14? Is it just a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Or is there some deeper evil lurking in the depths of 1.2

If I remember correctly... OS 1.14 was mainly for the Zip disk units and OS 1.2 was for the MCD units.
But you can still use either OS regardless of Zip or card reader (MCD).

This is correct, that's the ONLY difference between the 2 os's.

I have an internal mcd 2kxl, os114. 512mb cf card, works fine.

No other reason, no deeper meaning.

If you can find a working atapi mcd, go that route. Format the card in windows fat/fat16. Stay with 8 characters or less filenames and that card can be thrown into mpc, pc, triton extreme. That's what I do with the wav's on the card.

Flawless.
