is it advisable to get a jaz drive for the MPC2000

do any of you own one with an mpc2000 im not sure if to get one

i use my 2k with a ZIP drive ,and i heard tha Jaz drive is not safe enough....but the ZIP is really convinient....

i use the word "safe" cos i'm french and i don't know the english word for"fiable"...i mean that you can have bugs when you use a JAZ drive,and the ZIP is "no problem"....but yes you can connect a JAZ drive to your MPC......

It'd probably be cheaper to get an external hard drive and an internal 750 hard drive, than to buy a JAZ drive for your comp and for your MPC, as well as their disks. They are still expensive as hell. A 2gb Jaz disk is $45 on average! That's half the price of a 750 meg ZIP drive. They were cool 6 years ago, when it was unheard of to have 1 or 2 gb on a disk .. but now that the ZIP is almost as big as the JAZ, and much faster, the JAZ is going to die out real soon unless Iomega reduces the costs.

I hear that Jaz disks are an unreliable medium... I wouldn't reccomend it.

jaz drives are okay and reliable and are way faster than zip drives. i have several but i only use it with my triton studio, it will work with you mpc fine, but like my man said the disk still cost a lot thats why i still use a zip wit my mpc because your gonna have a ton of drum samples so your are gonna need a lot of disk unlike wit my triton im just saving new sounds i create (im still on my first disk) but if you dont mind spending the money then go ahead
