Question about Swing

Im finally getting the hang of the swing function, but I have a question....

Is it possible to apply different amounts of swing to different parts of the drum sequence? For instance, 56% swing on the snare, and 62% on the kick, etc. I guess, since the different parts of the kit are on different tracks, the real question is how do I apply different swing amounts to each note/track.

Im thinking this would make a swingier drum pattern altogether, and would also make the programming sound more "human-like" since the different elements of the drum kit would have timing differences.

When I adjust the swing it applies the swing adjustment universally, so that all notes are affected; even when, in the swing screen, I only adjust one pad/note at a time.....when I go to adjust the next note, the adjusted swing has already been applied to it. When I adjust that second note, and go back to the first, it has changed.

Confusing description, but my point is, I dont know how to put different amounts of swing on each note/track/element of the drum kit. Any swing I apply goes to all notes in the pattern, even when I DONT choose "apply swing to note: ALL".

Any ideas?

yes, just change the swing setting before laying down the next part, then it will sequence your new notes with that swing amount.

say when you wanna apply the swing you just click on open window thingy while on timing then go to the bottom and then tap whatever pad you wanna swing then click do it then its done. If you want all the drums to have that swing then just leave it at "ALL". I cant explain myself sorry but I hope you understood what ever I said LOLOLOL

Keep in mind that when you setup the swing function unless you change it to a different value it will continue to affect every track when you overdub regardless of the pad/note you have selected in the menu. For example, say you set the swing for 58% for just the pad the kick is on then you switch to track 2 and record a hi hat pattern, the hi hat will also swing at 58%. To get the hi hat to swing at a different rate you have to go back into the swing screen and change the pad/note and swing % for that track.
