Saving Samples On Floppy Disc

I recorded sounds onto the pads, in the sample menu.. But I dont know how to save them, so every time I turn it off, I lose the sounds.. I only know how to save sequences or whatever so if anyone can help tell me how to save sounds then COOL!

Save a PGM (single program) or an APS file (multiple programs, up to 4 programs of 64 sounds). good luck with those floppys, yesterdays technology eat ya heart out.

you can save each sequence as a MIDI file, or all your sequences as an ALL file.

Could you go through the steps in saving a PGM file on the floppy disc?

Im not sure how to do that.

I figured out how to save PGM files, I think..

And I know how to assign samples to pads

But does anyone know how to pre-assign them to pads like when I first turn it on?

yeah floppys are a b****..say u chop a sample up into 10 or 15 peices, nine out of ten times you wont be able to save all of it on a floppy, depending on your sample size..it sucks alot. i have had a floppy drive on my MPC for a minute, had a Zip drive too but i broke it.

I really dont understand that "hating" on Floppy Disks. Sure, if you want to sample 3 minutes floppy is a no go. But there are still people who make great "single floppy beats"

WTF.I mean listen to the beat at 4:10. There are 3 Loops (hornloop, Epiano loop with bass both are 2 bars long and the Funky Drummer loop wich is just 1 bar I guess) and some other drums. There is enough space on a floppy.

Another point with floppy disk. If it is broke, you lost 1,4 MB (but floppys are relative save to use if they are new and you dont put them on a speaker or the platter of the turntable)
What about the **** zip drives? 120 MB lost and did you hear about the click of death cod and the zipdisk shreddering with this media type?? I would never use zips.
