About variation slider

hey I just got the mpc200xl from a dude on ebay. Am just learing the basics. Everything on the unit functions but the variation slider does not ( I think this breaks down alot ) So I wana know if I can manage without it and will I be able to make hot music without it????

the use of the NV slider may be a little bit weird at first. and you may also find it does not operate like u expected it too. but none the less it is a handy feature, and using it will soon become second nature. . .

i've gone without a nv slider for a lil' over 6 months now and it hasnt really affected me other than not being able to chop my samples fast enough but I have my own workaround for it.....you can still order a new one from akai just by contacting them...its not expensive at all(20 bucks-cheap!) though you will still hafta find someone who can sodder it in for you......I copped one with in a week of my old slider breaking but i've been oo broke to take it to the shop......
