Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Please may I have some help on knowing how to do the following (should it be possible).

I want to be able to record the MIDI data into my DAW (Nuendo/Cubase) and MPC simultaneously. This means that I will have my tracks saved as audio within my MPC, with the MIDI positioning saved to my DAW (for more intricate editing, either while creating or when I come to it later).

Could some please run me through the connections.

Also, if I were to use a VST instrument when creating a beat. Is there a way of ensuring that the MIDI data records to both my DAW and the MPC simultaneously.

All help would be appreciated. Safe.

Just use your MPC as the sequencer. Then just press record in the DAW while the MPC is playing back what you played. The DAW will record the notes your recorded on the MPC. Simple. If yor VST/VI isn't multitimbral, you will have to record the midi notes into the DAW before selecting a new sound/patch from the VI and moving on to the next midi track. Just make sure you sync the MPC to the DAW so when you press record/play in the DAW, it activates the MPC and starts playing your notes!
