How do I mute groups?

do I need to create a group first, of samples or programs?

Help a old dog out!

There's no "groups".

It's mute assign, 2k manual pg 105.
It's mute assign, 2kxl manual pg 126.

Same exact screen on both machines.

i just mute the traks individually when i record it live. ( eg - trak 1 - drums, trak 2- hi hats) and just mute em when i want them to vanish.

Not sure if that is what u meant?
