I need help with my roland vs880

Hey wussup everyone I just got my roland vs880 today and i having trouble.First I tryed to make my mpc the master and with my mpc 2000xl manual i did not get anything out of it. Now i went to check up on connecting it with the roland and it said to search through system until it says sync on the screen. NOW!.......When i go to system it reads this SYS Init.Drive=NoDrv. Then goes to physical fmt= on/off , next on the parameter is partition=500mb/1000mb. WHAT IS GOING WRONG!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!! if i can call anyone that would be great 2 my name is Jigsaw 216 by the way

I got a VS-880. not sure exactly what you are referring to.

Are you trying to sync the MIDI clocks, are you connecting via MIDI or SCSI?

This sounds like it is a disk error on your internal drive on the VS-880.

SYS Init.Drive=NoDrv -- this means there is no internal drive, or the drive has failed.

The other parameters are format options

physical fmt= on/off selects whether or not to use phyical formatting. This should be set to "off" but if you get a disk error when you do a surface scan, switch it to "on" and then try to initialize and format the disk again.

Do you have this problem without having it connected to your MPC?

i keep trying to du something new but its just staying at the same screen do it need to be fixed? I did the same thing when hocked to the mpc

i got an 890 and i was wondering how u track into the roland..i usually record from audio inputs all tracks at once but it comes out sounding smuggy and not how it did in the MP out the monitors..
