Saving problems with my MPC

What up beat heads...i been having trouble saving my tracks on mpc...i follow all the necessary steps and i even name the track...but when i put the zip disk back in the mpc and try to load the track i dont hear anything...is it possible for the saving function ont he mpc to be messed up? Please let me know...good looking

aight good looking ill try this when i get home...also how many sets of cables will i need to hook up my midi controller to mympc? jsut though like asking sinceyour the expert....holla

in reference to your first post where are the sounds coming from? and what does your set up consist of?

Yp Phatz...what i was thinking was using the sounds that i load into my mpc....My set consist of a turtable...a 4 channel mixer...the mpc.....a midi controller...and i got a pc with cool edit and acid but i can use that till i buy a interface....so what do you suggest...any...

You should follow this rule when saving

Not necessarily. Lets say you have a Program called ACIDBASS that is on a zip disk that you are using in a track, and arent changing at all.

When i comes time to save your track you dont want to pointlessly overwrite that program or even worse save it under an All Pgm, as thats wasting space. I either write down what Programs were in what S: or else i "write" that in an empty pad name so its there with my files theres a trick for you.

But basically yeah, you need to save your Programs AND your Sequences. How you choose to do that is up to you and how you are working, the amount of disks you are using etc.

Personally i use Zip disks merely as a transfer mechanism for my files, and trust the PC Hard-drive more, and back up religiously, or else for live gigs. Leaving your work lying around on Zip disks is asking for trouble.
