Erasing Mixer Automation

okay...Ive known for quite sometime how to record automated volume and pan settings into the sequence.
But the problem now, is how do I erase the volume and pan settings from the track?...say ive recorded volume changes on channel 13/pad13 and i want to erase those volume changes and return it back to default.
how would i go about doing that?

The manual doesnt explain the process, and ive tryed to erase the automated triggers in step edit mode, but still nothing happens.

Good question I've never done it other than undo seq. Same goes for modulation wheel info, I have no clue how you would erase it.

if you re-record at the point where you have the volume change with the volume up in the mixer it will erase the volume change data.

but you have to make sure your not recording on the track with the sound otherwise it will erase the effected sound as well since you are re-recording.

when i did it i think i recorded the volume change on an empty track. so if you recorded the volume change together on the same track with the actual sound. i dont think it will work.

i havent done a volume change on the mpc in some time. so i vaguely remember doing it like this. if you try this i suggest you see keep from adjusting anything else after so you can undo if it didnt work how you wanted.

I don't know if that method will work with modulation wheel data because it effects recorded notes like sequences triggering a module. I don't have a mod wheel in my setup right now but I'm still curious about deleting.

What about manually trying to find the data under the step screen?

I was wondering if there is any other way, other than that method. When you do big modulation sweeps on say a Dmaj7 chord triggering a sound module there's modulation information on every tick of say a 4 bar sequence thats a whooole lot of manual deleting. I'm positive there's a way to do it and I think it involves selecting just the data you want to edit i.e. PITCH and then changing the view to ALL described on pg 64 of the manual. I don't have my MPC set up currently so I can't go home and try it.

I dont think there is an ERASE feature for this. As i havent used this option in a few years I may be wrong. There is defiantely workarounds you can do. When I get home in front of my mpc I can let you know how.

it can be found under step edit, just gotta change the view from NOTES to MIXER whatever i cant remember it right now. but you can also find MIDI CC / SYSEX and other sequenced data from here too.
