Mpc 2000xl 1/16 chopping

got a question about the 1/16 equal choppin...
when i chop a loop for 16 equal parts, and flip it like sample1,then 2, 3 etc.
when i listen to the recording it sounds like there are some clicks between the gaps between pads... like some sort of attack but it sounds if u play 4 samples in pads line 1-4 like 4 hits on the pads... i think it's cause each pad has attack but how can u fix it. thanx

frst of all don't chop in equal parts, not every (drum) sound takes up the same in the total time of the sample, adjust the size of the chops accordingly. A sample or a break does most of the times not contain exactly 16 separate sounds, adjust the number of chops accordingly.
How to achieve this is clearly explained in the manual.

As for the attack settings of a sample those get set in the params screen of your pad when you assign the sounds to the different pads in the program menu. The manual explains clearly how to do this as well.

And if you are gonna chop into 16th's, once u zone out the loop, go back and adjust each chop seperatley because they might need to be tweeked before u hit "do it" Always go back in and listen to each of your zones. As far as playing the chops, most people set there playback as mono or poly, when I play back my samples I loop each chop first Then set play back to "note off" and then adjust the decay accordingly so my pads have a "Release" effect instead of abruptly cutting right off. But its a case by case basis.

How do you get your 1/16th chopped samples/zones whatever to save to an already open progam that has existing sounds and sequences?

You can't do that automatically, no auto assignment to an existing program.

Thanks, so I save those zones as new samples and then go back and assign them to pads? It doesn't give a prompt for you to decide where to save them, so does it go to the RAM or to the drive (i..e. zip, floppy or whatever)?
