Note Variation Not Working

Hey guys, I know this has been asked and did searched and found semi-results. I recently got some parts from mpcstuff.com and replaced the slider post for note variation. Everything works and except the note variation slider is not responding. Read the manual and did what it told and still no response. I'm decent on soldering stuff but I may have messed up something by either the contacts are not connecting or the soldering was not done properly. The question is should have a pro fix it to re-solder the part or re-solder to make contact. Your help is appreciated and again did search and find a decent results. Thanks !!

hey not trying to be stupid but cause your new here and stuff...

Do youknow how to use the note variation slider correctly? If so ignore this:
You have to hold shift then push the after button then select the pad and parameter. Now it will vary your pad when you play it, and if you push after button so the green light lights up it will also affect that pad within your already-recorded sequence

BenHoughton and Lampdog: Thanks for the tips !!! My friend came by and looked at my 2000 of the slider. Also he looked at the solder and said the way I solder the contacts was not good and a little messy. So he re-solder the part better and cleaner, test it out and now it's responding. Again thanks for the tips and this forum for the MPC is useful. Props !!

co-sign. I have soldered a fair bit of electronic components on breadboard, but I would never ever take a soldering iron to my mpc my soldering skills are just not good enough (yet?) and there's so much that can go horribly wrong. Then again there are people on these boards who seem to master the fine art of soldering and who can do some sweet hardware mods to an mpc with turning it into a spiffy looking paper weight.
