Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By meseratibeats Fri Mar 26, 2004 10:04 pm
Hey what's up, I just bought a 3.5 internal
8 in 1 flash media/ writer.
I can't remember where I seen it on this site
but somebody said that they installed one in
their 2000xl . Actually somebody even posted
a picture of there 2000xl with it installed.
I would like to install the media/reader writer
into mines , but before I do I need instructions
on how to do it. Do I have to cut wires ?
or can I just take out my internal zip drive and
hook up the media writer inplace where the zip was?
Please get back at me soon I would like to get this
done today and I don't want to open the package untill
I know for sure that it's a simple job.
peace!!

refer to page 191 of the mpc2000xl manual.....this will show you the location of the flash media and the rest should be really simple.........

Good Luck

nah, it's one of those bay drives right? That should not be in the manual if i remember correctly. It was on mpc3000's site a while back, but i don't know if it's still there though.

Let me know if it worked and where you got that cardreader. I'd love to transfer sounds to my powerbook without having to connect a zipdrive all the time.

that is in www.mpc2000xl.com under installing zip drives... installing the card reader is basicaly the same thing..

I went the external route, I have a SCSI, PCMCIA drive... then its only a couple of bucks for a compact flash adapter.. not to mention card media prices are getting lower and lower... its great!

Where did you get an external scsi reader that sounds like a option also,
I got the memory card reader from comp usa for 32 bucks but I took it back it looked a little to eperimental to try
