Where can I get a driver for my mpc2000 for win xp?
Or how do I get my computer to recognize it?

How the heck are you plugging your mPC in? via SCSI?

As far as I know you can't plug your MPC directly into your computer. I think it even says this in the manual somewhere. The MPC1k is pluggable via USB, but unless I'm mistaken (which is quite possible heh) you can't plug your MPC into your computer other than via MIDI or Audio Input/Output.

What up mwilder. Sorry mdwilder. The MPC will not be recognized by the computer no matter what. Even SCSI. The only way is to get zip drives. Or one for the computer and the MPC. I have an internal. And an old s***** one for the PC. A dope program that you can use to make programs then put them on a zip disk or floppy if you have to is the Mpc Editor
http://www.midicase.com/mpceditor/
You can download a trial version that works for 30 days.

There ya go.

Midi yes you can use just about any software that has midi capabilites. You just need to set up the channels as what device is the host. The thing is MIDI transfers NO AUDIO. All it does is send info to tell the MPC when to play or to play ex. pad a for 2 secs. Just control info. So you can set up say Logic as the host and have the MPC its slave.
See MIDI Sync is set on the MIDI clock. The slaves clock has to be set on "external". That means that its tempo will be determined by the hosts setting.
With a prog. like logic or protools, cubase, acid, these all have MIDI clock settings. That means if I hit play in one of these programs the MPC will start playing too.

Hah yes it is. I saw the image on CNN and his face looked like the ultimate evil, so I stuck the face of Darkness, from the movie Legend, on him :)

I can't find the original image I used, but here is another shot from that conference he was at.
