Noise on line 8 of my 8 outs board

I didn a search and tried the memroy clean and swap and that didnt work I even put it in another 2k and it still had the same problem. anybody got any ideas on how to fix this Im open to anything thanks

I forgot to mention that it only happens when I hit a pad to play a sample. Its like an added weird distortion static effect. is there a specific place on the card that I could or should look for a bad connection of some sort or some sort of resistor that might need replacing

do you have the 8 outs going to a mixer ?
cause i had that problem and it was all salved when i got myself a 8 in interface... my mixer was crap

I tested all of the outs with the head phones just to make sure they all responded on the same level. the only one that was a miss was out #8

I got the same thing on my 3000. I think its something on the board thats fried... couldn't see anything toasted though when I took it out.

it is hard to visually see if something is fried (with the exception of CPU's frying sometimes but even then)

If it was caused by ESD then forget about resolving the issue.

electro static discharge.

actually when you open up a computer or mpc... it is possible to give a static shock even if you dont feel it or see it... very minute static shocks are enough to ruin a piece of chip board.

The way to prevent this is to get a electro static bracelet (it is a bracelet that goes from your wrist to the chassis of the machine to ground the machine...) or even what you can do which also works is... touch the metal chassis (frame) of the inside of the mpc with one hand before touching any chips or cards inside the machine.

when it comes to chips and cards... 80% of the time that damage is caused, it is caused by ESD... if not even more percent then that.
