scsi conflict ID#6

Hey guys
i just baught my mpc 2kxl a week ago and have been going at it for the past 5 hours
This guy sold me a mpc 2kxl with a scsi zip drive and a compact flash drive that was not connected
i have been modifying(adding holes to make brakets) my flash drive and finally got it to connect in da machine.
I went back home trying to download the os 1.2 in order to make the flash drive work
as im putting my scsi zip back in the mpc i open the mpc and while trying to load i just see
SCSI conflict id #6
at this point im just thinking maybe i have to switch up the flash drive with the old floppy drive and foget aboutt he flash drive but man
im just tired
last topic i opened noeone was able to answer me
hopefully this time ill be able to get some responses
sorry if i sound disrespectful to the forum but im not trying to be
just been workin on the mpc for a week straight without even makin one beat
so much for my winter vcation lol

checked it my scsi device is on 5 and its termintated...
The SCSI device was workin find b4 i took the mpc apart to put in the flash card drive (not from mpc stuff.com)
when ihad the floppy on there it was workin fine. so i took off the card reader drive and same thing
is there a way that i flicked something and made the scsi mpc 2kxl unterminated or maybe set it on somethin else but device number 6 ?

k i checked everything inside everything was good...
for the card reader i havent installed os 1.2 yet(maybe i dont see a atapi device because of that )
i took a zip disk i had and put it in my pc formatted it (i dont know if i did it in the right format)put it in the zip drive and saw conflict id #6
later i took a zip disk with information on it that i got from a friend and everything was working just fine

the mcd i got isnt from the mpcstuff website i got it from the guy that sold me the mpc (i had to connect it myself) i made the cables. they are well connected my mpc is just not reading any atapi drives.
i have a zip drive 250 mb scsi device
i plugged the mcd in the atapi on the motherboard
i have the scsi zip external connected in da back of the mpc
for some reason the zip disk my the guy that sold me the mp is workin well.... the zips that i formatted on my computer arent

and i just formatted the zip disk that the guy that sold me the mpc gave me (formatted on mpc) and the mpc screen shows conflict id #6 again

think i figured out why my cf card reader is not getting recognized its cause i havent inserted a card inside lol says mpcstuff.com
you think thats the prob?

I am now having this same problem w/ a zip drive . It's a 100 plus/auto detect and the zips I'm putting in it are from my old classic . It loads my programs fine at first and then when I go to save something I get "scsi conflict ID#6" . Any ideas on how to solve this ?

Don't use a ZIPplus drive.

Did it work before?

Had this problem all the time myself. My solution was to start the mpc, wait for it to load.
Then when you go in to the load screen, it would come up with the conflict id#6. Here I ejected the zip disk, put it back in, wait for the load sound to finish, then press load once again. Same thing when I wanted to save. Hope it works for you, as it always worked for me. never figured out what ws wrong though. Could it be that it is powering down? Going to sleep mode?

edit: this was with the iomega ip 100mb drive, external.

Apparently the zip 100plus's don't work too well w/ XL's . I plugged in my external card reader today and it works perfectly fine .
