Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

How come I can't see the samples from Vinyl when I go to Trim. I mean I read the manual and tried everything to see the sample grid from the vinyl sample on the Trim screen. When I go to Trim it just shows a colored grid with a straight line running though it instead of the sampled form so that I can see the sample start and end form to chop it. Thank You for your help!

OR
there is the special knob, when you look around you`ll see something like REC GAIN.
this should satisfy you.

I had this problem too for a minute. I tried to turn up the Rec Gain and volume etc. through my different components (DJ Mixer) but to turn it up loud enough to see properly, I would get feed back or other distortions. Initially, I would just use my ears instead of the waveform.

What I started doing that seems to work better/or in conjunction with turning u[p the Rec levels and using your ears, is making a shorter initial sample to be chopping up.

This seems to work; because I guess you aren't stretching the waveform as far length wise(?I guess, but don't know if this is true). So instead of chopping a 16 bar sample to 16 pieces, take two seperate samples of 8 bar ones and chop each into 8 pieces each.
