Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I been trying to midi out my keyboard into midi in on the mpc2000xl- to play sounds from my keyboard on my mpc2000xl. However, all that happens is the sounds i have on my mpc2000xl play on the keyboard. I don't want to sample the sounds from my keyboard, i want to play them on the mpc2000xl pads live and record them on the mpc. Can this be done, i search a while here and found nothing on this.

you just need to plug keyboards midiout- to mpc midi in. Then go to middle C and put a sound on BANK C PAD 1. Should work.

If all else fails, I would suggest contacting your keyboard's brand company. I tried everything suggested to me and still was having problems. Because every keyboard has different nuances, you might be missing a key step in getting this to work....I bet it's frustrating! I was trying to figure my keyboard set up and it was taking me 1 week of trying different stuff. I finally gave up and called Roland's keyboard dept.(I use a Roland keyboard) and I just told them I trying to use my keyboard sounds to record MIDI into an external sequencer. They told me how to make sure the keyboard was set up right. It worked and I haven't had a problem since.

I hope you get it working for you!
