100MB ZIP drive on MPC2000XL MCD SE1 doent work !!!

Hi MPC heads...

I connected my 100MB ZIP disk with a friend's MPC2000XL and it doesnt work.
I did what I do on my MPC2000 but on the XL, I dunno... It just wont work.

I bought a male 25pin SCSI cable to 50pin male so that I can connect it and it wont work.

The MPC2000XL has an internal CF card reader/writer and Im wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Any other ways to find out whats wrong?

the mcd shouldnt make a difference. im asuming you went into the load scree and tried to change the device to scsi5-6 which ever yours is set to? i had a mcd, internal hdd, external hdd, and external zip100 hooked up to mine all at the same time with no problems.

Yeap, you need to change the device order from the LOAD screen. On the MCD's, it's set on ATAPI by default. For the ZIP drive to work, it needs to be changed to the SCSI option. That way, the MP will see the SCSI port and try to access files from there.

What scsi id is your zip drive set to ?
