How to cut a sample

Hi,

I wasn't sure how to word a search for this question so forgive me if it's already been asked.

Is it possible to set up the MPC 2000xl so when you hit a pad it will cut a sample currently playing that was triggered from another pad? This works in 16 levels but how about in normal mode.

sorry, this might not be clear, i'll try again. Can i trigger a sample with one pad and cut it with another? i.e. pad 1 triggers a long piano sample but when i hit pad 2 a snare (for example) will trigger and cut the piano?

Did you try to find it in the manual?
It is all there.
Try looking for zone editing, Overlap functions, pad mute.
you can find the manual on akaipro.com go there and download it.

IN PROGRAM PARAMETERS TURN YOUR SAMPLE TO MONO,THEN HIT OPEN WINDOW,TAP THE OTHER PAD SO THE NOTE SHOWS UP AND VICE VERSA,,BASICALY MONO>OPEN WINDOW

pg 26 in the manual ,,,, overlap ,, u can only mute 2 pad with 1 ,, there is a way of muting more,,, its in these forums somewhere
