Down Cursor Prob

Im Having problems with my down cursor on my 2000 classic and im thinkin about opening it up and cleaning the tact switch
With a Q tip and alcahol
My question is
Is this safe
Any other suggestions will help

Its relativ safe if you know what you are doing. If you dont know dont do it by yourself.
Oh and cleaning might wont help. I think in most cases the switch need to be replaced by a new one.

im gonna have to replace it unfortunately
but thank god I work at a HARDWARE STORE
gonna have to check out a soldering iron
anyone knows how many watts is recommended for the Soldering iron ..?
