MPC pads play the drum hit twice , is this Normal??

wutup, ok so I just got my mpc 2000xl in the mail , which i bought off ebay. and i open it up and start messin with it. I loaded in my drum sounds , but when i go to play em alot of the time the pads get a double hit each time i hit them. is this normal? how can I fix the problem? anyways, hope this hasnt been asked b4 etc etc ,
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

use the search function on this forum, please. and before asking another stupid question try to read the manual first

ok , i just got my mpc and im really new to this forum, also the guy who sold it never gave me a manual, just wanted to know if it was ok and i dont need to like replace the pads , thanx anyways i guess i just gota practice usin em

try googling for the manual?

im sure its just the way you're hitting the pads. you're probably triggering the sound twice and don't know it. a bit of getting used to. no biggie. try hitting the pads with just one finger.

this is not covered in the manual so don't mind the guy giving you a hard time. but do yourself a favor and read the manual. it works wonders.

you can download the manual just google mpc2000 or 2000xl manual (whichever u have). but yea just hit the pad w one finger and a big thing is lift your finger after you strike the pad. dont let your finger sit on the pad after hitting.

I have the same problem, save for the fact that ive used the 1k before and never had any problems...
im feeling like pad cleaning/replacement may be in order in my case.......but....
