i cant tell you 100% if it will work.. because I personally never tried one.... but I somehow really think it will work.

what type of drive are you buying? (internal or external, IDE or SCSI)

also, you will probably have to format the disks to fat, and you might have to put some partitions (put simply) because I am not sure for example if the xl can support 3gigs for example... we know it can do a gig with out issue, and i believe there is no problem with 2 gigs.... however more then that might cause problems.

may I ask what has gotten you to choose jaz over compact flash cards? jaz is more expensive, and harder to find then CF.. the drives are more expensive, the disks are more expensive and harder to find... plus Cf is newer and common on new computers for file transfer.

I just saw a classic go on ebay with a jaz drive included. I don't see why it wouldn't work it's SCSI just like a zip drive. I have one but its the kind you mount internally in a PC and it comes with another card? Never thought of using it.

You can use them, not sure if all are compatible tho. I would suggest upgrading to a card reader if you are considering upgrading drives. Transfer rates are fast and they make no noise.

At least the 1GB JAZ drives work, I have one. And they are quite fast as well. I would recommend those because you can only handle 1GB partitions on a 2000XL anyway.

And by the way, there are only SCSI versions of them.

hmm yea, ok im actually buying a 2gb jaz drive, because I there is a guy selling it with disks also for like 30 bucks on craigslist , but will prolly get some 1gb disks because of what yall said about the partitioning, that should work , right?

if you have the proper interface...

get a scsi controller card for your computer and you shouldn't have a problem

i just find it sucks that we cant get sd to work... cf is not really a standard.
