MPC input question for quality

Hey guys,
Just started makin some drum kits in my mpc by recording from my fantom xr into my mpc just to have all the drums i like on my mpc.
WHY YOU ASK ?
well two things first reason is that i just want to have all my drums on one machine and have the feel of the mpc when im layin down my drums
Second... i heard that the processors make it so that your drums have that grimey feel to them because of the processors inside... the processors inside are good quality from what i heard and they havent made them as good on any of the newer mpcs

but i just tried out for the heck of it.... recording via spdif from my fantom to my mpc... and i find the quality to be a lot better.... btw when i record from quarter inch i use mogami cables so i dont think its the poor quality of the cables that make think that...

oh ya sorry and one last thing... obviosuly if i record with spdif i wont get to use those processors in the mpc 2kxl... so thats basically why im doin this thread
to know exactly the best way to sample drums in the mpc spdif or quarter inch

lol should i sample my stuff through spdif digitally or use quarter inch analog

Not if you use an XL...

..don`t make other people tell you what to do.

thats exactly what my friend told me... whatever sound better to me thats what i should do ...
sound wise does the xl have any advantages over other mps?
and what makes the sound of the 3000 one of the best?

Why not just slave the keyboard to the mpc instead of sampling every sound and change the parameters of the sound on the keyboard to get it where you like i.e. ,E.Q. Reverb, Chorus, Distortion, thats what i do but i like things the easy way.

welll the way im using my mpc with my motif is i got both workin as my sequencers that way i got my instruments in one and my drums in the other that way i have more than 16 tracks to work with... i just like to have everything seperated that is why i sample every on of my drums wether its from vynil or sound moduals
but thank for the idea just dont want to be limited to 16 tracks

I sample all of my sounds into the 1k whether its coming from Reason, the Motif, the Proteus, the DR or any other source. Everything gets run thru an Akai mfc-42 before the MPC. My proteus, CD player and Mbox go to the digital in of the MPC, everything else is 1/4" in. Sure you can just midi everything up but what happens if the MPC has to travel? F that. Id rather have everything in one location.

honnestly i find the motif sequencer a lot better than the mpc .... and yes it only has 16 chanals
