Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

My MPC in the mail. At the moment I have it connected to a guitar speaker and am trying to get down the timing, as it is mighty weird to me, where i've only worked with live instruments.

I was wondering what connections, or equipment would I need to gather to sample from the computer, cd players, and such. I'm new to this and completely in the dark. I see now MPC's are definetely harder to work than i thought.

Any help and hints would be appreciated.

it varies man, before u get TOO deep, just pick one medium say... cd's.

if u have a boom box, shelf system whatever, look at the outputs of those systems. if its rca, then get rca to 1/4" cables to run to your stereo ins on the mp.

if u sample vinyl, like in your orevious post, cop a preamp or mixer, and get a TT like the vestax or numark portable joints.

take it one step at a time....

RCA to 1/4 for vinyl or cd, 1/4 leads if your tracking it into a tape/audio interface, firewire to USB cable to connect to computer, MIDI cables for MIDI related things, A CF card reader.
