The MCD is only 3 months old :(..... I know im going to have to have it fixed but what experiences have people had when having a shift key or those other small buttons fixed, did you have more problems or was the MPC problem free after the repairs ?

its not hard at all.

I repaired and replaced 18 of those small buttons on my MPC 2000XL w/ no problems during or after words.

Its just when you take em off to be careful.

you have to squeeze the sides in order for them to be taken off so be careful of wiring and other buttons around the one you are taking off.

I got my buttons from mpcstuff.com

dunno if they still have any left....

Are you talking about you pushing it and it not working or just that plastic part is broke ? If you're pushing it and nothing happens you need to repair the tact switch underneath . I had to have this done a couple weeks ago and was just talking about it on here . Here's a informative post that someone put me on to on here :

the tact is easy to change. just some basic soldering skill is needed.

I think VST and MPCstuff.com has 'em but it's a huge rip off . They want something like $6 a switch and when I just had all of my switches replaced in my XL on the receipt it said they only charged me 60 cents per switch . I might have just gotten lucky .

I've also heard you can find them pretty easily at electronics stores like Fry's . Not sure though .
