Im running a MO6 and MPC as well.
Everything is done in song mode on the MO6. Im not at home right now, so this is off the top of my head.
-Power up the MO6 FIRST, then power up the MP
-Ensure you have all the settings for MIDI set up properly, should be in the manual.
-on the mpc, set the 1st 16 tracks as MIDI tracks. 1A, 2A, 3A, etc.
-Go into song mode on the MO6 and find a empty song(or just delete all of the demo songs and have a clean slate)
You are ready to record.
-In song mode, go to the track tab.
-select the track you want to record(ensure that track number matches the track on the MPC) i.e. if you select track 1 on the MO, ensure you are on track 1A on the MPC.
-Hit the record button on the MO6, then go to the Voice menu.
-Now hit the "Category Search" button... you can now go through all of the voices(strings, brass, synths, etc.) Then once you found your sound, go to the MPC, start recording.
-Follow the past 5 steps for each new track you add to your song.
-to save, you have to hit the "Mixer" button, then hit the Store button. Then go to file>save and save the song to your USB thumbdrive.
