Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have an mpc2000xl with card reader and latest os. Is there some way to sort files? I want my folders/files sorted in alphabetical/numerical order. When i re-sort the files on the computer it won't translate to the mp...it always puts my newest files last.

i dont think you can sort files aside from just creating folders.

you can't sort in the xl so it's not the answer you're looking for...

the xl sorts files by creation date. computers transfer files by alphabetical/numerical order. so if you move your sounds to your computer, format your cf card, then copy em back to the cf card, you can get your files nice and organized (depending on how you name your files).

works great for folders that have like "kick01, kick02" etc. You copy the last file over first and then the creation date on the CF card will be the oldest and show up first on the mp. Or, if you transfer a whole folder the order will be from z-a on the mp since the computer will copy files that start with a "1" or an "a" first.

CKRename (freeware) for PC can help with batch renaming.
