Can you do this? Do you need additional software? Would the PC just see your 2000xl as another drive?

I've used the search tool used "and" and "not" and could not find the answer I was looking for. I found some information on hooking up an external HD to an MPC, but not a PC to an MPC through SCSI. I'm not very familiar with SCSI, because I've never had to use SCSI hook ups before. If there is a reason not to do it I'd like to know specifically. If it's a question of it can't be done for such and such reason I'd like to know why.
If you don't feel like answering the question then please don't, and please leave it to someone who would be willing to spend the same amount of time to make a reply that will actually answer someones questions.
I asked a succinct question. Now if someone had the exact same question as this, if they were to use the search function that is so highly praised I bet they would find this post before any other one on this exact topic (that is if they use the right limiters, but I even found that using the "right" limiters doesn't always mean you find your answer even though there might be a post somewhere that has the info. your looking for.)
Telling someone to use search is a lot more wasteful than just answering the question. Do you know how many posts I have to go through where people just say..."Use search" for any given info. I may be looking for. It's not very helpful, and doesn't work miracles for the already wacky search tool on this site.!

it wont work and could burn out your scsi fuse if you try. same thing with sharing a single disk drive between the mpc and computer.
Best bet use the mpc editor program (at midicase.com) to get sounds from the pc to mpc.
Or just stop using the computer--- transfering samples is such a b!tch that for me the benifits of editing on the computer are mitigated...
oh yeah, if you have a midi in and out on your computer + a program like recycle you could send the samples as midi dumps (this is how I move sounds from my mpc to my s1000).

Good lookin' descartes! I have a midi/game port on the front of my PC. Could I use that for midi dumps. And could you explain midi dumps further. I'm sorry, I've never had to use any of this stuff before, but I can make beats.

first you need an external scsi cd rom,to load sounds to your mpc,
then you will need a 100 mb zip drive to save your sh*t wav,snd,songs,sounds,ect,or if you got a little extra doe you can get a external hard drive,but id rather have a zip drive,cause you can format the zip so your mpc and pc can read it you digg.....
for audio files in your computer you can get wave2snd from bongero
find one of his posts and click on his link.
