Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Got an 8 output off of ebay listed as "from an MPC2000XL". I know the 8 outs for the xl should be produced by Akai:(IBM208P) or by MUTEC:(IB208M). The 8 outs I recieved has a yamaha chip on it and the part number 8PARA, also some other numbers (L6306A501A, 430218J). I did a search for all these part numbers and only the 8 para comes up, also as an ebay ad for a 2kxl 8 outs board, however, in the ad there is a mounting plate attatched to it. I tried to install mine yesterday, the thing didnt even come close to fitting (I have no mounting plate), and only one mounting screw fit in the board. Did I get ripped off? Does this board work in the xl? How can I get ahold of the plate if it does work? Anyone?

It's from a S2000 you have to rig it to make it work but it works there are plenty of people who have done it on here. You need to get like spacers to raise it up to fit properly.

Make sure you insert the ribbon cable in correctly onto the circuit board or you'll fry a resistor and the pad sensors.
Learn from my costly mistake!

it's not like a regular PC ribbon cable with a indent in the middle of the plastic connector to keep it inserted one way. At least mine didn't have it.
