Sample CD formats

I just bought an MPC 2000xl off of craigslist and the sample cd's that he included all have individual samples in .s1 (s1000?) format and I can load them individually just fine, but do I really have to load all the samples one-by-one every time? Is there another type CD I can buy that will let me load entire drum kits? Is there a way to load an entire volume of files in one fell swoop?

the best way would be to lead the kit that you want individually, and then save that kit as a program on the mpc. simple!

I have a mpc2000xl hooked up to a scsi cd-rom/zip drive combo rack thing and after I load up some samples, I want to save the program. But when I go to save, the zipdisk is not one of the available places to save. SCSI-1 is only a cd-rom. I think it might be a problem with how I hooked up the scsi cables because I know that has cause problems in the past.

There are 4 scsi ports on the box. The first one is going straight to the mpc, the one next to that is capped. The other two are closed up by the same short little scsi cord. The 2 ports that sit behind the zip drive are the ones that are closed up and just connected to itself you know. I can take a picture if I am not making enough sense.
