When you dudes turn up the record knob all the way....is it normal to hear any noise or hissing? Even if your turntable isn't connected?

When sampling....I can't get my level high enough without turning it up all the way...any fix to that?

preamp or turn your threshold down, sample it, and normalize it.

What are you sampling? Are you talking about the gain knob on the MPC you are turning up?

not a preamp per say but I do have a 2 channel rane mixer

Did you forget to run it through a mixer or amp? Most turntables send phono not line level. Tell us how you fixed it so if people search for this same problem they can solve it too.

yeah, mention the turntable model too just so others can see this..... people often make threads about a similar issue.

use a mixer when you sample everything. the mpc sampler isn't the greatest, but it gets the job done. i use a regular 4 channel mixer to sample anything OR go through my DAW soup it up there (effects, compression) then sample. overall id say preamp/mixer would help.
