Zips&CFs Format Space Question

For the technical heads...

When working with zip disks, after formatting it with the MPC Editor, you will only get 32mb usable space (to make it compatible between the MPC and the PC)...regardless if it was 100mb or 250mb.

For the CF cards:

1) After formatting it with the MPC Editor, will it only have 32mb of usable space also?

2) or Does the OS 1.2 enables it to make it compatible without needing it to be formatted with the MPC Editor? (Which means then you can't make .pgms on the PC...)


I just want to know what else, besides the larger space and faster speed, I am missing out on with the CF cards.

And yes I have heard..."throw away your zips & floppys and get yourself a CF Card Reader"

The main thing you are missing out on is the increased reliability of the card reader drives. The fact that CF readers have no moving parts to wear out and they are completely silent during operation - these are the features that persuade most people to buy one.

ok...no one seems to know the answer...anyone out there that had used both before?
