Can you set up the mp to have the samples playing out the 8 outs when you are in trim mode? I looked all through the manual, but couldnt find anything.

I don't believe so. They have to be assigned to a pad for it to play out the individual outs hence why when you go to the 8 outs it says 1/2, 2/3 or 1, 2 , 3.

It just seems funny to me that you can audition samples by choosing monitor->L/R,1/2,.... when in sample mode and you can assign sounds to be played out the indiv's in program mode, but when in the trim mode, you cant hear anything unless you have headphones or have the stereo outs connected.....Doesnt make much sense to me.

Yeah, I think it's only headphones. I hate that too. Eating up 2 more cables and 2 more channels on the mixer just to audition...

I usually take the 1/2 from the 8 out card andput them into the stereo out til I'm ready to mix down... Saves time and cables.

why use 10 cables if you only need 8? I am reorganizing my lab this week and trying to minimize cables and unused devices. Anyone looking for a s900, lol...

lol...now that's an excuse...you could just use two of the 8-outs less if that's the issue..
