Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hi i have just got an mpc 2000xl and i cant quite get my head around it because its not as easy to use as the 1000. i cant seem to get my samples in a program to cut each other off. on the 1000 you just switch it to mono under params but its not working at all.

also i have another problem i cant seem to use the note repeat button it doesn't seem to work i hold down the button for it and tap and hold a pad with a sample on it and it triggers the sample only once, i have checked to make sure the timing was how i needed it and that was ok.

any help would be much appreciated!

thank you

in the params screen where you change sounds from poly to mono or note off... push open window for muting other pads.

as for note repeat... the button only works when the sequencer is playing or recording. push play and then hold tap tempo / a pad.

yep the xl works that way... you can only assign 2 pads to be cut off. there is no function where every pad cuts off every pad.

you can work around that a bit by going into bank D or or taking any unused pad and muting sounds you want to have cut off... then just record those empty pads into your sequence.

the note repeat thing.... no clue what the problem is there.
