I think my mpc 2000 is dying

hello, I've recently purchased an used mpc2000, and I've been working on it, using only the 3 original floppy drives that came along with it. I made a sequence with the funky set, and saved it into the funky set floppy, wich turned out ok, and I had no problems with that. but than I made a sequence with the hip hop set and saved it into a floppy I had(previously formated in my mpc), the next day I went and worked on it, and saved it again, but the following day, when I went to load it , my mpc said there was a disk error, and couldn't load it.
I moved on and made another sequence on my standart set and saved it in the standart set fllopy, and the next day I got another disk error.
I tried making another diferent sequence with the standart set again and saved it to the mpc OS floppy, and the next day DISC ERROR. Than I loaded my standart set again and 4 of the sounds wouldn't load, this same happend with my hip hop set.
do you have any suggestions or ideas? thanks

Could it be that those disks, snd even the 2000 itself, haven't been used in a long time? If so, it's always good to have a lot of blank disks on hand and back up everything at least twice. Those disks really do, as it turns out, have a shelf life. Before doing anything, I would get a set of ten disks and make at least three of them backups of the OS. Then move on from there. Does OS 1.72 load well from floppy?

Beside, to kill a MPC2000 well you have to use a big machinegun.

Does OS 1.72 load well from floppy?

if new disks dont do it then its prolly just the drive in which case u can get a scsi for the low and use that, or get a new internal drive, my son stuck a battery pack in my floppy drive so i dont even use it at all, all i use is the scsi

Yeah, the one that didn't load was the original 1.0 OS floppy.
But I think I already have the problem solved, from now on I'll be using an external zip drive to save and load programs.
