MPC 2000XL as a synth triggers random keys

hello MPC forums, aight so here's my problem. currently, i have my mpc 2000xl hooked up to ableton to trigger battery and vsynths. The problem is that when i press the pads, they are not in the correct order, like if i start at C1 many of the pads will trigger random pads like "Bflat" 3 octaves up . When i press "pad bank D" on the mpc it seems to go in consecutive order, but only works on the really high notes, and this method cannot be used effectivley in battery. Anyways, If anyone could tell me how i could make these pads go in the correct order id really appreciate any help.

create a new program
make each pad the desired midi note
save program then use as a template

there might be a better way
but thats what i do
