mpc as maser or slave

just wanna hear how some of cats sync your sequencers to your mpc, either as master or slave, the ups and downs of each configuration and why you use that particular set up, also your master controller keyboard, would you run that into the mpc, and then midi out of the mpc into midi in of midi interface for your software sequencer, OR have the keyboard as a controller "A" and the mpc as controller "B" running into your midi interface for your software sequencer.
Reason being i aint got no modules except for s950 and a yamaha tq5 and i want to know whats the best way to configure the lot, so i can record and mix all of them as audio, to master. by the way i got a delta 410 soundc ard, only two inputs analog at least, external mixer (soundcraft spirit sx16)and i will be getting the eight out board hopefullly 2weeks time

It really all depends on your setup. I'd say if you are using software modules and a software sequencer, why bother using the MPC as another sequencer? Things are going to get complicated. Technically it should work either way, but often people have problems with one over the other due to latency and syncing issues.

You were asking about where to run the master keyboard... it all depends, do you want to record the notes being played on your software sequencer or your MPC. Sometimes I'm really not sure why people insist on using 2 sequencers, it's going to be a lot easier to stick with one so you're not going back and forth. So if you are writing a lot of your sequences on the PC, I'd say, control your external gear from there. If you're doing more sequencing on the MPC, then link everything up to it.

I picked a hardware sequencer (mpc) to control all my hardware devices, then multitrack record them (and works best for live). If I started using a software sequencer it would make everything more complicated. If I just needed to control a software module or two, I could slave them off the MPC, but again, I'd be worried about latency.
