Hey, just wondering if anyone here has the FMX008M 8MB Flash ROM Expansion installed in their 2000XL and if so, is it useful. If you got programs loaded, then power off and then on again do the programs just stay loaded or what's it about?

thanks.

I got one in my 2000 classick, and don`t want to miss it .I store the os and my favourite drums in there.
if you`re looking for one,it`s pretty hard to find.....but I saw one at mpc-hunter.....

doesn't the CF convo do this as well.
but the CF has more storage right .1GB
8MB just seems so small.

is there a larger flash ROM that's capableof storing more ?

With more and more people going the card reader route (1 & 2Gb flash memory cards), it's pretty useless to get the expensive azz 8Mb ROM option anymore. Save your money.
I think this option would better benefit the straight 2000 users since the OS can be saved on the ROM like Maxilla stated and it's harder to get a card reader put in it. But it's still costly.

Naw dog. There is only the 8Mb FMX008M that is fitted only for the MPC2K line.
