scsiforsamplers.com wrote:... that requires no soldering, installs in about 30 minutes, keeps the rear SCSI port active and requires absolutely no modifications to the MPC2000. This kit will be shipping next week, so contact me if anyone is interested. :D

I wonder how you do that.....connecting to the floppy connector or what ?

It is not a floppy to SCSI adapter. It is all SCSI, top to bottom. The way it is done is quite simple and has been explained on this forum before. I added one little extra that ties it all together. Now anyone can install a SCSI drive in their MPC2000 in 30 minutes and keep the external port working, without going anywhere near a soldering iron.

Any SCSI drive that is compatible with the MPC2000 and can be mounted inside the case (meaning it will fit inside) will work with this kit. Due to the lack of real estate inside the 2000 case, I'm thinking zip drives and card readers (drives that replace the floppy drive) will be the most easily installed.

Also, this kit requires that the SMPTE option not be installed, as it uses that opening in the rear of the case.

Which reminds me - does anyone have a good, clear picture that shows the entire inside of the MPC2000 they could post here or email to me?

Oh so you did it like I suggested it before but added the option of a usable external SCSI port right ?

I want that money man. its my idea ;)

No, seriously. I'm glad someone do this for the folks that cant or dont want to solder it by themself. Hope you get some clients here.
I would send you the picture but I just got everything in place (sorted cables etc) and I dont want to disconnect and open up the MPC, sorry.

peace

I sent you a PM but to recap, djdiscord is the one who I think first posted this idea. He worked with me to refine the setup and make it a workable option. But maybe you posted it first and he got it from you - I don't know. All I know is that it is a great idea and works very well.

As for money, I'm afraid there isn't any. No one has bought one yet... :(

Maybe all the MPC2000 owners already bought external drives.
