mpc lcd screens

whts the deal w/the lcd screens? Is there a solution?

Use the SEARCH!!! you will find your asnwer...to put it short, you are fu*ked if the screen is gone.

my biggest concern ... on the 2000....

Oh hell yea same here..I even asked the dude who sells backlights and parts for Akai's about the probelem which he said he was well aware of and that he tried a repair on a screen to no avail..

Also Forat say fat chance akai will bring back the LCD's as a spare.
I don't know why the price of the XL is going up reacently...this is a doomed machine and should go for bugger all, chances are Akai will never bring back the LCD and a repair option who knows...

amen id be totally lost too... ive had a vertical blank line going through the right side of my LCD for over 2 years now. it really sucks when trimming, but now im used to it. just praying it wont fail me anytime soon.

I've come to terms that the most sensible thing to do is splurge on a spare mpc as a back up. With the price of screens now, you can get a whole unit for not much more dough.

There is a guy on here who found the exact same screens Akai used basically and he put one in his MPC2000 and it worked fine.

I also agree with dude before me...we need more INFO..i love my 2000xl and the idea of buying a new mpc (which really doesnt offer any REAL upgrades that are relevent) is absurd. I know my machine inside and out and dont wanna change up.

We need to all come together and find a solution to this problem.

yup, i just bought another mpc because it's mad hard to find the lcd's now. akai needs to get it together. 2000's are one of the most popular of the mpc line. it doesn't make any sense. it's easier to find an mpc 60 screen than it is for a 2000/xl.

this thread is starting to scare me now... i cant afford another mpc....

man this thread is slightly scaring me now lol . im a new mpc owner ive got the mpc 2000 xl mcd i know these were made after the og 2000xl so do they still have the same screen issues or is there a better screen installed and you think akai would start cashing in selling new screens as the biggest % of mp users use the 2000xl or 2000 theres money to be made........
