I found a shop that can sell me a brand new Maxtor scsi harddisk at a good price. The only issue I have is that this harddisk is a 36 GB disk. I know that the MPC2000xl only recognizes harddisks up to 4.5 GB. Here my question, will the mpc be able to format and use this harddisk just like that (tts use 4.5 Gig of this disk) Or do i first need to repartition the harddisk b4 connecting it to my MPC2000xl? Is there anybody around here who managed to connect a big SCSI harddisk (bigger than 4.5 GB) to their MPC200xl. If so is there a special procedure I need to follow (appart from making sure the scsi id is set correct + correct termination etc...)?

What would happen if you'd make a 26gb partition on a pc first, and then hook it up to your mpc?

Yeah I've been thinking about that one but apparently an mpc can only connect to a drive formatted by the mpc itself. So basically i wonder if the mpc will be able to format/partition the first 26GB (I always thought 4.5 was the max capacity but this is even better :D ) by itself.
