XL sync issues

Ive been trying to sync my XL to SX3 all this week with little or no success.

My sey up is. PC running XP pro SP3 and Cubase SX3. 2x2 midiman USB midi interface to my MPC. This then drives two EMU samples.
My midi keyboard is a creative proddy keys to SX (for the lack of space) and a novation supernova as my MPC master keys.

So its like two sperate systems really. The MPC for my external gear and the PC with master.

Ive tried MTC and uhhmmm (the other, my mind has just gone blank)

I had problems with my 2x2 as SP3 messes with things and I realised I was getting any midi signals out of either ports. I re installed the drivers and now Im getting note information out to the MPC.
Ive got the midi connector in MPC midi in 2. In the sync section, its set to look at in 2. with the settings set as per the manual.
I had one run through and CLICK, it all locked together and ran. I stopped it and now it won't again. BUGGER.

I have a suspicion its the 2x3 that doesn't like sync. By the way, nothing is midi filtered and its the same on either track tempo or program tempo on SX with internal source set.

Im truely bugged.

I know you got a 2000XL, but here is the way to midi up the newer MPC's to Cubase. It should help you.

Well dude.

Tried it with midi clock and with MMC active. The MPC starts in correct time but my sequence in SX just sits there. Curser doesn't move, doesn't play. Very odd.

When the sync is offline in SX the MPC plays. When its set to internal the SX sequence plays but with out external sync.
Any ideas?
