Anyone transfer MPC2K/2Kxl files to PC?

Hey all, trying to get my MPC2KXL files into my MV-8800 which reads akai format
I think there is a way this can be done using the MCD CDcard reader/Writers and simply
1> Load from SCSI HD or ZIP into MPC
2>Save on to MPC installed MCD CF card
3>Remove CF card and place in multicard reader attached to computer via usb
4>drag and drop Akai files to computer
5>Burn CD
6>Load into the MV-8800
Has anyone done this with success, yet?
Will check the MV 8800 forum too to see if anyone has made this happen.
I like both machines, great units.

You don't need to burn the samples to CD to import them into the MV8800... you got a USB port for that.
